Department of Professional Practices
Improve services by investing in professional skills, that is the battle cry of our Department of Professional Practices (PPD). Professional skills is the key driving force for professionals. In addition to quality assurance, the Department of Professional Practices also provides functional support, in particular IT audit services as part of an integrated audit concept.A path towards further professionalization with a highly distinctive ability in the SME segment. The strength of our company lies in the contents of the service provided and our contact with the client.
The implementation of the WTA/Bta [Accountants' Organisations Supervision Act] has considerably tightened the supervision of additional independence rules and quality control. The Accountants' Organisations Supervision Decree (Bta) provides an elaboration of the rules from the WTA. The auditor should have an adequate internal quality control system that meets the generally accepted standards of professional practice. In this regard, the public accountant also needs to properly observe the rules of professional practice (Professional Code of Conduct and COS). The WTA prescribes a significant number of issues with respect to the quality of the execution of the work, focused at provision of services in the form of assurance assignments (audit, assessment and other assurance assignments) and related assignments (compilation engagements and carrying out specifically agreed work).
The guidelines ensuing from the said regulations do not only apply to the accountants and assistant accountants, but also in part to tax specialists, salaried employees and even our support staff. Incidentally, the PPD is also directed towards our tax colleagues, through the distribution of our own tax manual. A key medium here is our shared intranet, the distribution centre of knowledge. PPD sees to it that all this can be fulfilled. In short: as a combined accountant organisation and tax consultancy, we want to exercise and continue to exercise sufficient control over the professional skills.
